This is a selection of images depicting lovers, life partners, newlyweds and others. From planned studio photographs of couples consciously producing a memento of their union, to photographs showing smiling lovers posing outside on a sunny day off, to the snapshot of a tired bride and groom at the end of their wedding dinner, this collection of images combines visual memories of the everyday as well as glimpses of special highlights. The photographs range chronologically from the end of the 19th century until the 1980s.
